Pilates for Bone Health Retreat

One in three women and one in 12 men over the age of 50 are affected by low bond density with many Pilates clients falling into the 50+ years age bracket this is a condition that affects most of us.


Low bone mass (osteopenia) is indicated by a Bone Mineral Density with a Standard Deviation of 1-2.5 below the young adult mean (target 1 group). Osteoporosis is indicated by a Bone Mineral Density with a Standard Deviation of 2.5 or more below the young adult mean (target 2 group).


This 2 day Pilates programme will offer suitable exercises for clients in target 1 and 2 groups as well as the seemingly healthy adult utilising small, light pieces of equipment such as foam rollers, soft balls and hand weights.


Each Pilates session will offer lots of adaptations for all levels to make it suitable for everybody, regardless of your experience. Pilates will teach you correct posture and body awareness, spinal alignment, improved core strength and mobility.
